Xavier Cintrón is an emerging Puerto Rican composer, arranger, and producer, currently completing his studies at the renowned
Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, with a double major in Composition and Contemporary Writing and Production. His Puerto Rican roots naturally and eloquently inspire his compositions and arrangements, which reflect a deep connection to his heritage.
Leveraging his expertise in his primary instrument, the Puerto Rican cuatro, Cintrón seeks to expand its unique language into diverse instrumentations and orchestral techniques. His work blends the structure and form of European classical music with the syncopated rhythms of Puerto Rican folk music and the rich harmonies of jazz.
In 2021, he was awarded the prestigious Juanes Prodigy Scholarship by the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation, co-sponsored by the Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes. He performed at the 2022 Latin GRAMMY Awards with urban artist Nicky Jam. Additionally, he has performed as a soloist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra (OSPR) under the direction of Maestro Roselín Pabón, and with the Midwest Young Artist Conservatory, as part of the 35th-anniversary celebration of Puerto Rico’s Rondalla de Humacao. His collaborations include performances with renowned artists such as Juanes, Olga Tañón, Manolo Ramos, Victoria Sanabria, and Marcos Sanchez as an assistant producer.
As a composer and arranger, Cintrón’s musicality, sensitivity, and authenticity drive him to create music that bridges cultures and nations, fostering a sense of peace and honoring his roots while incorporating innovative and modern elements.
